The Arran Coastal Way are delighted to be organising a 12km Trail Run. The race will be held on Saturday 30th April 2016 with the route based around Blackwaterfoot.

The 12km route we have chosen is totally off-road and is challenging with conditions underfoot range from tracks and trails to stony paths and sandy beaches. We hope the variety and stunning scenery will make for an outstanding and enjoyable trail run.

The Arran Coastal Way team and our Blackwaterfoot volunteer group have worked really hard to upgrade paths in the area and we think the improved paths give great potential for some fantastic trail running!

We have teamed up with Laura Aitcheson of Run Arran Coaching to advise us technically on the route and to ensure our event is well organised. Laura will also be running sessions in the lead up to the race to help local runners prepare for the course!

The event is hoping to attract 250 runners and their respective spectators into the area. The race has been accepted as part of the 2016 Challenge Series with JogScotland and Scottish Athletics.

Entries are open until 31st March 2016 at www.q-buster.co.uk and more information on the race is available at www.arrancoastaltrailrun.co.uk.
