"Had a holiday on Arran in June to do the coastal way, climb Goatfell & visit Holy Isle. The weather was fantastic, I only had one day of rain, the rest being warm, around 21 degrees. The walking and scenery were fantastic... it really was a get away from it all holiday. Well done to all involved in creating this great walk.
I've put some of my photos from the trip into an on-line album for anyone interested in seeing them. CLICK HERE
I've also made a full 360 degree panorama taken from the top of Mullach Mor on Holy Isle.
CLICK HERE to open the download page for the panorama, then just click the icon or 'Download' button, then you can save or open the panorama. It's in QuickTime format. Best viewed at double size - Select 'View' then 'Double Size'. You can then click and drag with the mouse to rotate picture. 'Shift' and 'Control' keys allow you to zoom in and out of the picture." | Robert Gemmell July 2010 |
"Just finished the Coastal Way on Saturday 17th April 2010. Five days to go round - not bad!!! At the stretch just after Dippin Head I thought I would climb to the higher ground to avoid the boulders. Not a good idea. With the fern, brambles and hidden rocks, I dropped nearly a foot at one point when I walked on what I thought was solid ground, but was not. Boulders may look slower but they are quicker in the long run as you can see where your next step is taking you. Thanks everyone for all your hard work!!!" | Regards, Kenny Brown, Ayr April 2010 |
| "I thought the section from Sannox to Lochranza was one of the finest bits of walking I've ever done - in 30 years of hiking! And why is everyone on Arran so friendly, is it something in the water (or the whisky!)?" | Iain Barker Sheffield, Yorkshire October 2007 |
| "We were made to feel welcome everywhere we stayed - you have a very friendly community. I hope you get lots of walkers, I will certainly be recommending it." | Dario Tognini January 2007 |
