Our team have been moving mountains … well, very big boulders … to bring a tricky section of path to safety and enjoyment for walkers.

The An Scriodan boulders in the very North of Arran between Laggan Cottage and Lochranza, has long been a struggle, especially in wet weather.

Many used to walk on the beach to avoid this section, although this was only possible at low tide, and others took an escape route from Laggan Cottage over the hills to Lochranza, thereby missing out on the fabulous views and remote walking past Ossian’s Cave, round the Cock of Arran and on to Netwon Shore.

After 6 weeks of hard graft, the guys have now completed a stepped path through the boulders. It’s and amazing transformation – go and see for yourselves!
