T
he inland Coastal Way path swings inland to take in the impressive Glenashdale Falls and then continues through the forest to Lamlash. The coastal route passes through Whiting Bay village and round Kingscross Point to the Viking Grave and Iron Age Hill Fort. The route continues to Ardlui and then along the shore to Cordon, on a mixture of boardwalk through the shore-side woodland and sections on the beach. There is a small section of this route that is not passable for around an hour at high tide, so please check tide times. The two routes converge in Lamlash.

PLEASE NOTE!
1) Main Route: Extra care should be taken on the boardwalk between Cordon and Kingscross during the winter months as the surface can be wet and slippery.
2) Alternative Route: Starting February 2019 for approx 6 months forestry operations will mean that the area around Glenashdale Falls will be closed to the public. Diversion signs will be in place directing walkers from the south via Giants Graves into Whiting Bay. Walkers heading south from Lamlash using the alternative Coastal Way route along the forestry road will be directed into Whiting Bay via South Kiscadale. Please follow the signs for your own safety.
